Accidentally agreed to cooking for someone, but don’t want to spend hours and hours preparing a meal? Or you need something to whip up in 15 minutes? The answer is always pizza. No, not delivery pizza, and not feckin’ Digiorno’s, who are they trying to fool with their frozen pizzas?
So to make our super quick & easy 10-15 minute pizza, you only need a few ingredients and you can sub in/out with whatever you like! It’s your pizza & your date or party or hey just for you.
– Prego Alfredo sauce
– Salad Mix
– Half cut up tomato
– Leftover chicken
– Buffalo sauce
– Murray’s blue cheese
– Thyme, Pepper, Pink Himalayan Salt, Truffle salt
First, preheat that oven to 375 degrees. The oven should be done preheating by the time you finish prepping your pizza. Grab your naan–naan is a traditional Indian leavened bread. It is also quite delicious as a pizza bread and far less time consuming than creating your own dough, though kudos to you if that’s what you regularly do. You can find naan in the Bakery section of the grocery store, we like the garlic flavor!
Next, grab your sauce. You can definitely go for a more traditional pizza and use a tomato based sauce, but for this particular pizza we used Prego Alfredo sauce. Since we were also doing buffalo chicken sauce and didn’t want to overpower the pizza. The key is using a pasta sauce, you never need to buy “pizza sauce.” Many times pizza sauce is a ripoff and usually not as flavorful as pasta sauce. So spread that sauce on the naan, if you want a little kick add sriracha.
Choose your toppings, if it were up to me, our pizza would be smothered in cheese, but J is slightly lactose so I put some vegetables on there instead. Also we’re still pretending to be healthy. We use some of the mixed greens in our spring salad mix, and pick out the spinach and the arugula for pizza. We also added tomato. Then pick your cheese, we used Murray’s blue cheese, crumble or smother (your pick) your cheese. Don’t forget to add spices! Just a pinch of thyme, Himalayan pink salt, and truffle salt (YUM-just a pinch though). Stick that pizza in the oven! Set your timer for 15 minutes.
Next choose your protein! We used leftover chicken and marinated it with buffalo chicken sauce on the stove top. Once you take your pizza out of the oven, put your chicken on top. You could also use bacon or prosciutto as your protein, if you go that route, put those bad boys on the pizza 5 mins before you take it out of the oven to get them perfectly crisp.
Depending on how crisp you like your pizza you can cook it for 10 mins or 15 mins. BOOM you’re done! Cut that pizza up and wow your crowd. 😉
